The Moghul Durbar Journey

The Tasting Spread

Mandil Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

Being invited to this beautiful restaurant- Mandil, owned by Mr. Durga Prasad, for bloggers meet dinner was quite exciting πŸ˜ƒ. I received a message πŸ“© early in the morning for this, which finally caught my attention when I was on my way to work. I knew that it’s going to be a long yet an equally eventful day so I planned it accordingly.

Interiors

This place is not easy to spot even though it’s situated just on the main road, a prime location in Hi-tech City, Hyderabad. You have to be really careful πŸ‘€ with noticing the restaurant name and the parking as it’s a dark lane and as you go down the uneven slope, there is no valet available. Located on the 4th floor, the interiors made the place look bit royal and served their purpose of making our journey through the Moghul Durbar” to some extent.

Paneer Nazakat

I met the Restaurant Manager and Head Chef Zabir Khan when I reached. With 18 years of experience, Chef Zabir Khan has been with restaurant for around 9 months and has been managing this outlet of 25 staff members for 6months now. This place is known for its buffet spread with a USP, that all the courses are served on the table so you don’t have to leave your table to get food.

Chilli Garlic Teriyaki Chicken

Eventually when everyone came, we were served with a welcome drink and then we got started with soups and appetizers.

Lemon Coriander Chicken Soup

Soups 🍡– Lemon Coriander Chicken soup and Cream of Mushroom soup was served which was such a comfort. Specially the creamy and smooth mushroom soup took my heart away unexpectedly as it was just πŸ‘Œ (I am little speechless here). Rating- 4/5

Stuffed Mushrooms

Appetizers– We had Cottage Cheese Paprika, Malai Broccoli, Stuffed Mushroom, Babycorn Tempura, Chilli Garlic Teriyaki Chicken, Ginger Fish, Dragon Chicken and Mandil Tangdi. Now here I would definitely like to recommend Stuffed Mushroom and Chef’s special- Mandil Tangdi. I bet πŸ˜‰ you won’t regret it. Mandil Tangdi πŸ— is one of the specialities of this restaurant, which is  tandoori chicken stuffed with spiced minced chicken served with chutneys and salad. It gives you a layered taste of both the stuffing and the tandoori chicken. Rating- 4.5/5

Nawabi Murgh Masala and Nizami Handi

Main course πŸ›- Moving to our 3rd course we got some Nizami Handi, Paneer Nazakat, Mutton Do Pyaza and Nawabi Murgh Masala to taste with Assorted Indian Bread Basket. So here is a good news for Veg lovers, these vegetarian dishes were equally flavourful and aromatic as it’s non vegetarian counterparts. Paneer Nazakat is added to my favourites now, it’s sweet aroma of cardamon makes you dig into this soft, smooth and delightful gravy dish. You can also try their biryanis and you won’t be disappointed. During the brief with the chef, he recommended another main course delicacy at this restaurant- Aftab Murgh which is boneless chicken dish in medium spiced gravy served with eggs sunny side up on top of it. Rating- 4.8/5

Gulab Jamun

Desserts 🍨- Our all time favourite Gulab Jamun was served with a scoop of ice cream along with other Barfis.

Mutton Do Pyaza

They have plans to open more branches of the restaurant in Hyderabad and one in Kolkata in future. This place provides you with an option to choose from their Express Buffet- 399 INR and Mandil Buffet (elaborated)- 550 INR offering the same menu at all their branches. Looking forward to hosting corporate events in future, Mandil welcomes you to definitely consider them for office parties for their royal Indian cuisine.

Chicken Biryani

We recommend this place for casual dinner with family and office parties (for Indian cuisine fans πŸ™ƒ). Overall our taste-o-meter rates the following-
Food- 4.7/5
Service- 5/5
Staff- 5/5
Ambience-4.5/5
